For shops
How does Sharpenly Team pricing work?
Team pricing is built for shops: a recommended Team plan around $150 per month for 10 seats, with additional seats around $20 per month, and an annual option. These figures are a launch recommendation, not final published pricing. You can start free, and shops can run a 30 day controlled pilot at no cost. See the pricing page for the full ladder.
What about the controlled pilot, is it real?
Yes. The controlled pilot is a 30 day, no cost pilot with a curated scope and light, guided setup. See /controlled-pilot for details and how to start.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly: cancel any time, you keep access until the end of the billing month. Annual: cancel any time, and unused full months get a prorated refund if you cancel in the first 90 days. Full refund policy at /legal/refund.
Do you offer multi-location discounts?
Yes, email sales@sharpenlyapp.com if you run more than one location. We've custom-priced for franchise rollouts and dealership groups.
For techs
Can I use Sharpenly without my shop owner's account?
Yes. Sharpenly is free to start: a daily quiz, ASE prep, and limited practice. Pro is $8.99 per month or $69 per year and unlocks unlimited questions, every study guide, and certificates.
Is the content actually accurate?
Yes. Every quiz question and lesson is built from real ASE prep material and reviewed against authoritative industry sources. We don't make up automotive facts.
What roles are covered?
Mechanic, service advisor, tire tech, diagnostics, and management. ASE certifications A1 to A9, L1 to L4, C1, G1 are all in the curriculum.
Bilingual & accessibility
How does the bilingual mode work?
Every quiz question, every lesson, every certificate ships in English AND Spanish, side-by-side. You toggle once and everything follows. The Spanish isn't machine-translated, it's reviewed for shop-floor accuracy.
What other languages are coming?
English and Spanish stay the focus through 2026. Portuguese (Brazilian techs) and French are on the roadmap if there's pull.
Hiring assessment
How does the hiring exam work?
From your manager dashboard, click Invite candidate, enter their email, and we send them a one-time link. They take a 25-question randomized exam (about 20 minutes), and you get a report card with a hire / borderline / reject recommendation and topic-level strengths. Server-side scoring, they can't cheat.
Can I customize the exam?
Today, the exam is a fixed 25-question randomized pool drawn from the full library. Custom pools (e.g., diagnostics-heavy for a service-advisor role) are coming in Q3 2026.
Privacy, data, account
Where is my data stored?
Google Firebase (US region) for the database and Auth. Stripe handles payment processing, we never see card numbers. No third-party data sharing. Full policy at /legal/privacy.
How do I delete my account?
Email billing@sharpenlyapp.com from the account email. We process the deletion within 7 days and confirm.
Will you ever sell my data?
No. Hard no. Same answer if a VC asks.
